3 Ways of dealing with all Champoos in this World

During my recent travel, I met an extremely irritating, rude character, who thought he was the only smart Alec alive on planet Earth blessed with rights to insult everyone around, irrespective of their age, sex and experience.

I gave this character a Nickname: Mr.Champoo Champiwaala. This world has many Champoo-like characters, only the names and faces change.
(The character depicted above is Ralph Wiggum from 'The Simpsons')

It angered me great extents that every lie repeated by Champoo more than 3 times was believed to be 'the ultimate truth'; while the honest ones had to sit silently and tolerate insult. Champoo got away with spending money collected for a good cause like it was his father's legacy, while he conveniently turned away deserving creditors as cheaters.

Meeting any Champoo can be a terribly unpleasant and unsettling experience. Here are my 3 ways of dealing with these extremely irritating characters:

Become Mr. Champoo's AEI (pronounced as आई ).
(आई is Mother)

(This Blog does not support spanking of children;
The Cartoon above is not to be taken literally and is only used for representative depiction)

A: Act
I once witnessed an incident where Champoo insulted a 60 year old and brought tears to this man’s eyes and all the ‘Good-hearted Pandavaas’ sat around and watched in silence.

Whether it is hurtful behaviour of a friend or horrid dominating in-laws; Whether it is rudeness of a government employee or getting cheated by a shopkeeper: "ACT": Don't sit quite, Do something;

This is not about 'Moral-Policing';

The Only 2 Questions to ask are:

1. Am I doing this only for satisfying my own ego? OR
2. IS this act in the higher interest of people around and society on the whole?

The answers to the above questions will lead the way forward.

The "righteousness" of an Act gives strength to take the necessary action;

Actions will vary in every situation; the important thing is a shift in our own state of mind to say "This is not acceptable and I am going to change it".

E: Educate
A more subtle step is to Educate Mr.Champoo.
For eg: Shopkeepers and Rickshaw-waalas assume their cheating will be accepted silently or Attendants at Airline counters assume they can get away with rudeness.

Simply, clearly, confidently Educating Champoo does the job. Simple communication that what they are doing is "not-acceptable" send cold chills down their spine.

Really!!! Try it!!

I: Ignore
AFTER  I have Acted and Educated, the next best thing to do is IGNORE.

Just treat Champoo like a Cartoon character and nothing more than that. AFTER I have Acted and Educated, the next best thing to do is: Ignore!!

Its not worth it to get tormented by someone else's behaviour.

The most important thing in this world is my own peace of mind. Just become Champoo's AEI(आई) and move on with life. If someday, you get a chance, write a book about your experiences of dealing with all the Champoo's in this world.

God-Willing it will become a Best-Seller and you will be Thanking God for blessing you with Champoo-like characters who made your life worth writing about!!

  6. In case of horrid inlaws, what if the act makes them hold grudges against you ? How to deal with it ? I When you purpose is not to satisfy your ego or not even a bigger good to society. When you want to convey "it is not acceptable" - how do you deal with it when you have to do with them every day ? Can one just ignore without action or education ?. Please help - Jai Gurudev ~Shakti
